Short Update

53rd and 58th are on the verge of merging, some terror pockets remain near Ampalavanpokkanai. After flushing out the remaining terrorists, the divisions will merge and it may happen later tonight or early morning tomorrow.

Intel suggests that VP is alive and has about 15,000 civilians sorrounding him as a human shield. He is guarded by about 200 die hard hardcore cadres. The cadres are holding the civilians againts their will. The mechanised infantry brigade is expected to launch attacks on Prabha's area.

Situation is fluid, await further updates....

we all need to send in supplies to IDP's, a wave of support very important.

The warmth and hospitality of the Sinhala people (not being racist here but terminology is such since it concerns the Tamil and Sinhala people)should be felt by the Tamil citizens of Mother Lanka. This will heal even the most sore wounds and show the proper situation to thos ewho have been brainwashed.

So let's all contribute with conviction, not only the extras but let's sacrifice some of our creature comforts in this hour of need.

Our forces have sacrificed their lives so why not us, let's forego a bottle of beer, a scotch or a dinner out, any extras is all we need to miss for a day to make a difference

The sri-lankan army should be very careful like I said earlier since there are still 20,000-30,000 civilians still left in the conflict zone so that there are only minimum civila casualties.

The US, UK, EU and india are already at the governments throat over this. So my advice is to proceed carefully since no point sacrificing civilians or our soldiers lives any more since the LTTE is almost defeated anyway and there is no timescle or anything so why not proceed carefully to minimise civilian casualties?

Let us evaluate the possible fate of Fatpig. Going with what I think as best to worst.

- Pork BBQ. Of course do not even leave a bone. We don't wanna know where it happened or who actually did it. Also we don't even wanna know that it did happen as long as it happens.

- Killed by his ppl. Fine as long as it happens. But how can SLDF verify?

- Escape by his own. And live in exile. SL/India constantly demanding for his arrest and hence he cannot appear in public. But he tries to control diaspora and whatever remains of pussycats, hence avoiding another leader shaping among them.

- Escape in the hands of powerful nations - a rescue in other words. SL can sore its diplomatic relations with that nation and force for his hand over for eternity. And that naturally avoids his chances within SL. He will have to live out of SL and die as a symbolic leader.

- Capture by SLDF, publicly, hence punished and imprisoned in SL. A captured Fatpig will make the day of all HR and NGO vultures. How good he's fed, what facilities he has and how many chinese goddesses he gets per month. All that on our tax payer's cost. Many doing kidnappings to get him out of jail. A Mendela of Fatpig.

- Capture and handed over to India. Super prison facilities, for few years, and pardon.

- Lay down arms and surrender to SLDF, publicly. SLDF can spell out its conditions, but still the Fatpig will have his chances in politics after the surrender.

- Lay down arms and surrender via UN or ICRC. This is a winning point to him. We will have to accept him in politics.

To go any more slower would cause more death and more agony to the trapped Civilians. I believe army commanders are making the best decisions according to the ground situation keeping in mind they are fighting one of the most ruthless terrorist organizations in the world.

The sri-lankan army should be very careful like I said earlier since there are still 20,000-30,000 civilians still left in the conflict zone so that there are only minimum civilnia casualties.Indeed buddy. SLDF is taking maximum precaution. What else was slowing down the operation man. We'd have crushed the pussycats, if not for civilians.

Thanks for your advice. SLDF has done more than enough for this regard.

The US, UK, EU and india are already at the governments throat over this. To be precise, this is indeed a reason to speed up. But I dont think that there will be any action in an effective period of time.

So my advice is to proceed carefully since no point sacrificing civilians or our soldiers lives any more s

The whole point ongoing operation is because tigers do not surrender. This line should have been sent to them. SLDF is a defence force and they have the obligation of protecting its people from evil elements. So with or without soldier casualties they will achieve that. .

Actually the only party who has no more points to prove is Pussycat movement. Please send this through to them if you can.

ince the LTTE is almost defeated anyway and there is no timescle or anything so why not proceed carefully to minimise civilian casualties?See, the parties who complained about civilian hostages said that their life standards are very bad. The rescued ones also approved this. So isn't it urgent that we rescue them, before diseases and malnutrition take its toll.

It is exactly what is happening.

As a side effect the pussycats will be finished and their leadership will be crushed. As a peace lover I suppose this is your dream too.

…we don’t have time…

Time is never on our side. We have so many things to do with so little people. We need to look after those who cross over, feed them, dress them and ensure they are provided shelter. They are our own people and we need to treat them well to establish this.

On the other hand, the terrorists are needed to be defeated. We need to destroy ‘the head of the tiger’ asap. All they need is time and their masters will device some way of rescuing them. Of cause, UK and France will come in boats, India will send emissaries and UN will send teams, after all, they all had invested in LTTE. They might as well come now and rescue what ever is possible from the assets left there.

So we don’t have time. Every minute and every hour is critical. Every minute counts. Every minute delayed could lead to the advantage of our enemy. So, we don’t have time. We cannot afford to go slow. We must score victories every minutes and get rid of the “head” asap.

Time is on their side, not ours!

Sujeewa Kokawala said...

It is true that there is immense pressure in diplomatic circles. But I do not think it is new. We faced this kind of pressure for quite some time. The difference is that they have come public about it.

And I do not think that these international parties are so strongly barking for the terrorists. They have way too many tamil people doing illegal protests and arrest is impossible for all of them. They have their "trusted" NGO and HR vultures screaming loud as ever. Also there are few seasoned customers who have a history of supporting terror groups seated in top ranks today. World trend also changed from conservative to liberal in the wake of economic and polar melt downs.

Bottomline is that this international terror support is not very much organized. There is debate and possible diplomatic discussion with SL. Also we have our sovereignty as final resort.

Diplomacy is like water. There is no fair side, it flows according to the gravity. And it can be halted. It eventually flows anyway, but halting it for the correct time window and using it appropriately, is up to the individuals.

Initially I thought MR has very weak diplomatic personal. But now in past few weeks I found that we have good guys around, at least some. Their voice is capable of halting the pressure, and they seem to be accountable.

Moreover, and ahead of all, our beloved SLDF is accountable. I am very much hoping to hear the news of BBQ.

I doubt this. Law, when it comes to international scale is vague and articulated. Otherwise how is Kumaran Pathmanathan surviving in public? Remember the total mess of Pinochet to be handed over, or PKK leader to be handed over. Some worked out, some failed. It depends on the power of the requester, not the law or justice.

India certainly has a say. But they are one of the game players. Fatpig, if handed to india will have a five star jail term until next election. India will articulate a political movement in SL such that Fatpig can remote control it.

As I said diplomacy is like water, and it flows with gravity, not with justice and fairness.

No no machan you mis understood me and in my haste to post i think i also have not clarified it properly

Terror chiefs jail sentence is given by a sri Lankan Court for his role in the central bank bombing

so even if he surrenders to the ICRC if it is in Sri Lanka he can be arrested ICRC cannot prevent that. Indian story is a different thing their also he is wanted KP is only a wanted man with an interpol warrent so it is up to the thailand police to take action
the fat pigs case is different he is a convicted murderer in sri lanka

Sujeewa Kokawala said...

Macho,

If he surrenders, that will be a fake and calculated one. Likely to happen after he "smuggles" himself into an ICRC ship. Or he connects with ICRC officials first. After that we can demand for him, but if they take him we will be compelled to attack ICRC, which can be interpreted otherwise.

So the possibility is always there. We should at least write off the surrender officially. And issue clear notice to all parties that we will attack Fatpig, no matter where he resides at that moment.

If we make a clear message ICRC won't risk their lives. Everyone is scared of this govt who stands by teh word.

What i wrote

The people who cry at the top of their voices and shows a concern about the current situation in Sri Lanka should understand few things

LTTE (Tamil Tigers) is classified as the most ruthless terrorist organization in the world by none other than the FBI .LTTE pineered the use of suicide bombs .They forcibly recruite child soldiers and killed civillians numbering to thousands including the tamils and tamil leaders. including two world leaders Priminister rajiv gandhi of india & a president R premadasa of sri lanka .They have ethnicaly cleansed the norther part of Sri lanka of muslims & sinhalease by killing entire villages including children & infants.this are a mere tip of the grave human crimes they committed in their pursuit of a mono ethnic homeland this led to LTTE being proscribed in USA,Canada,EU , India Sri lanka and several other countries

LTTE fund their military campaign through forcible collection of taxes from tamil people in western countries specially in UK, Canada & Australia.this lead the respective governments to investigate and freeze assets of bogus charity organizations such as WTO( World tamil Organization), TRO (Tamil Rehabilitation Organization) further LTTE runs several illegal operations including international drug & weapons smuggling, Human trafficking credit card frauds and several operatives are already convicted by the legislative offices of those respective countries.

There is no genocide in Sri Lanka as more than 50% of the tamils live with the other communities with out any problem in Sri lanka.(Come and see for your self in fact 30% of the population of Colombo city is tamil as per the latest statistics)

The current military campaign by the Democratically elected Sri Lankan government is to eradicate terrorism and to establish government control over the terrorist held areas of Sri lanka and 99%is already cleared .The present crisis is triggered because the LTTE is holding the civilians forcibliy at gun point and trys to use them as a human shield against the advancing military and they consistently fire their guns hiding among the civilians. inside the government declared no fire zone(NFZ) for the protection of the civilians. Now the entire remaining terrorists including their psychopath leader Velupillai paribaharan ( A wanted criminal in india & Sri Lanka )has moved in to the NFZ converting the NFZ in to a hostage zone Now the government of Sri Lanka is facing a hostage release situation and all diplomatic efforts to get the civilians released by the LTTE has failed as the LTTE know the moment they let the civilians go the Sri Lankan Military would crush them with in hours as now they are cornered to an area of apx 12 square km

Srilankan military in a daring rescue mission released half of the civilians few days ago you could see live videos of this taken through UAVs of the Sri Lankan Air Force and the Sri Lanka government Showed these video streams live to the diplomatic community at the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters at the time of the operation please visit hostage rescue operation in Sri lanka

Then why is the huge cry

Most of the NGOs INGOs and Human rights organizations were accused of giving material aid and technology to LTTE and there is enough evidence of these and im sure once the military operation is over the government of Sri Lanka will made public the findings of the on going investigations as loads of evidence are unearthed as the military conducts search and clear operations in the areas they have captured.

All though these aid agencies (Some) collect funds for the welfare of these people nothing has being done in these areas these are the realities we found as the military gained control over village by village of the terrorist held areas so naturally there will be lot of explaining to do by these INGOs so as to the end use of funds

Even the claims by the UN,WFP BBC were shown to be a hoax initiated by bogus propaganda of the LTTE as the government showed photographic and video evidence of hospitals claimed to be bombed im sure the media who reported these did not give enough or adequate publicity to the counter claim with evidence to save their face

Most of the rally s held in capitals of western countries are to safe guard the LTTE not the civilians as non of these protesters not even a single one of them asked or demanded that the LTTE should let the civilians go .Further when half of the civilians are rescued by the Sri Lankan Military the protesters should be the happiest and should rally around to give the basic supplys to these displaced people .Now not a murmur from them it is the Sri Lankan Government and the general public(including the sinhalease who are accused of mistreating tamils ) that takes care of them now

Who are these tamil protesters most are economic refugees who used the situation in sri lanka to get asylum status and most have their applications pending end of conflict in Sri Lanka is end of their reason to be in these western countries. These are the people who protest and make a huge cry

No reporters inside NFZ

Yes the government does not allow any reporters to go in to the NFZ as it cannot guarantee the safety of the reporters only embedded reporters are their with the military isnt this the norm with any military operation. But there are ICRC and the Christian aid organization caritas working with the government to distribute food inside the NFZ.Oh thats right this food is supplied by the Government of Sri Lanka knowing very well that the LTTE terrorist are using the bulk of these.(This was authenticated and verified by the civilians who are returning to the govt areas.)

Let Sri Lanka finish its war on terror truth will prevail in the end the government of Sri Lanka is taking the maximum possible precautions due to civilian presence if not the remaining area would be overrun by the Sri Lankan Forces within hours.

So please don't get mis leaded by the propaganda of terror sympathizers

Things are getting very unhappy today. I saw news requesting ceasefire from India..possible international intervension.. possible escape of prabakaran by sub.
I think we are too late. I thought the offensive will be over within few days (but seems that it will take weeks..may be due to civilian factor and ground reality)
Well I think at this stage we have to do something as soon as possible.

I sincerely wish that Fatpig will NOT surrender as that is the worst possible case. Given that BBQ is not possible, I'd settle into a underhand vanish and life in exile.

Mahen, one positive note is that ~500 bravehearts may not have to die to make the necessary frounds for the BBQ. Again anything is OK other than surrender, which is a virtual victory to them.

I know you guys are gagged. Mariyakade/Puran etc too. Pls give us what you can.

All my hopes are left in the greatest strategist and diplomat of Mahinda Rajapakse. It looks that even GR/SF etc can't do much now.

I will be having limited access to internet over the w/e. Sincerely wish that end of it would be a time that we all laugh.
