We are truly ONE NATION under ONE FLAG

This is by far the most humbling post EFT have thus far had the privilege to publish.

Though we had the information confirmed to us several hours ago, we only indicated this to our readers with an informal update to our main post. This is because we considered it our national leader’s honourable duty to officially announce to the world that the war against LTTE terror is over with the conclusion of the humanitarian operations conducted by the Sri Lanka Defence Forces, the Police Service and a host of other agencies working together with the people of Sri Lanka.

We are extremely humbled by the commitment and sacrifices of all who gave their limb & life for us to see this day. There are many who worked hard to make this day happen. We do not need to tell our intelligent readers who, what, when, where and how this amazing task was achieved.

It may be an opportune moment to acknowledge our “ladies” who have been an inspiring readership, spurring us on in what we did. We were going to fold our blog with the announcement of Ellalanforce poll results. However you requested us to carry on and here we are at the most exciting time of our nation since independence. For us this day is several times more significant than independence from Britain.

With our hand on our heart we can say that from the very beginning EFT has been utterly committed to ridding our motherland of filthy LTTE terrorists. Our original intention was to take the terror-supporting bloggers for a joy ride. We achieved that with some remarkable success. By then we realised that we can go a step further and offer a forum to our readers to discuss defence matters in a serious yet fun environment. Only you can be the judge of how we went about achieving that.

While we celebrate the occasion let us spare a thought for the thousands of our war heroes who gave their lives for a most noble cause; let us dig deep to do whatever we can do to secure a better future for our motherland and all its peoples.

Mahen

This is what that guy says.

/I am only able to ascertain that our National Leader is alive and well./

Then taminut says

/Stating that the leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Mr. V. Pirapaharan is alive and well, Mr. Selvarasa Pathmanathan, the head of LTTE's international relations, told TamilNet Monday that../

I don't know who is this SP but for sure there is at least one person to update the website and it may be the same one person asking questions and answering and then updated the website.

As I know tamiz people's national leader is non other than the tamilnut editor and obviously he is alive.

Breaking News

The leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Mr. V. Pirapaharan is alive and well and he is playing hide and seek with 25,000 civilians in V'kal, Mr. Selvarasa Pathmanathan, the head of LTTE's international relations, told TamilNet.

Guys,

I just have a feeling that something fishy has happened with Susai.

His name is not yet confirmed as dead. Also when you analyse the stories, his wife and children came over a few days ago to army. It may be that she might have brought and disclosed some info in exchange of something for her husband.

I guess we will never find out. If true, he may even get a new identity if that info was so useful for the final battle.

I just fee soothing is not adding up..

What do you think?

Guys,

A little off the topic. But, as part of the next campaign, the issue of dual citizenship is important. I want all of us to look into this and perhaps request the Government to act on this.

No action has yet been done (this is an old news)

I honestly believe that this will have tremendous benefits to Sri Lanka in the long run. Foregone revenue will be recovered in many folds.
Have a look at this link.

This is an area which require immediate attention at this time. What are your thoughts?

Mahen, perhaps you can enlighten us on this?

A psychology lesson for you guys
--------------------------------

The following phases describes the human behavior in an event of a death of a loved one. Our diaspora goons (including tamilnut) are currently in the second phase (denial phase). The third phase is more dangerous. Let's wait until the complete all the phases.

* The first phase is shock. Similar to learning of a terminal illness, the first reaction of a person who is told that a loved one has died is, "No." A feeling of numbness sets in. Some people simply say that life seems unreal.

* The second phase is denial. We are a death denying society. Even our language tends to deny the reality of death by using terms such as "passed away" instead of the word "dead." We want to deny that death has taken place. In the denial phase, people hope that it isn't true. They may feel like this is just a bad dream and when they wake up, every thing will be all right. However, healing from grief can not take place until the person is past this step and has accepted the reality of death.

* The third phase is anger. Once our minds accept the fact that death has indeed taken place, anger usually erupts. Again, this anger may be directed at God (which for a religious person results in a feeling of guilt for feeling that way about the Almighty) or it may be directed to doctors, medicine in general, another family member or even directed inwards ("If only I had"). Again, guilt enters. Anger may also be directed at the world in general. "How can everyone just go about their business when such a tragedy has just happened?"

* The fourth phase is mourning. This is usually the longest lasting phase. It can last for months or years. It may be characterized by feelings of depression, continued guilt, physical illness, loneliness, panic, and periods of crying triggered for no apparent reason.

* The fifth phase is recovery. Some would not call this phase recovery, because it can be said that one never "recovers" from a death. Death changes our lives forever. Things will never be "right" again. Although the pain of death will diminish in time, it never goes away. We will always long for a person we truly loved. But at some point, we usually find ourselves re-establishing our lives and moving on. That is seen in this phase.

Mayanu Layanu said...

Mahen and all others

My thinking is GOSL soon should make a formal apology for the 83 riot. I know most of the people here will bash me.

However, I feel that it is government duty to protect civilians and it didn't happen at that time. Most of the Tamil professionals leaved country as a direct results and I personally know two of them, and they are NOT in anyway supporting LTTE. But still they can't forget what happened to them in 83.

So my thinking is that, GOSL needs to give some reconciliation like what happened in Australia.

Was there any ethnic issue in Sri Lanka? Well, I work and walk with my Tamil brothers and sisters in Colombo. I don’t see much of a difference and don’t feel alienated when I am amongst them. However, yesterday was a day that I saw a difference between our behaviors. Well, I did not expect it to happen that way, but it happened!

From the morning, Tamils were way quieter, at least the bit I associate with here. When government broke the news of fat pig’s death in a formal announcement, they were trying to verify this from any available source. Once the mood of suspicion passed, they were ‘extra’ jubilant compared to Sinhalese. I still didn’t get a chance to try to understand the reasons for their behavior. However, I was received with frowning when I made a comment stating that they should not be too happy over LTTE leader’s dead body and this is not the end.

Now, for those who say LTTE represented Sri Lankan Tamils, they should come here and talk to our Tamils. This proves that there is NO ethnic problem here. It was a problem of terrorism and it is not yet totally solved. Major operations are over but there would be pockets of terrorists who are frustrated and try to get their frustration out on innocent people.

While we (all Sinhalese, Tamils and others) are happy, we need to be vigilant. There are threats nationally as well as internationally. If we don’t watch out, LTTE will rise again with the help of their masters. So we must crush any hydra of LTTE elements and we must do it immediately for all our Sri Lankans’ sake.

I don’t think there is any special apology is needed by the government of Sri Lanka. It fought and won the democratic rights of the Sri Lankan Tamil nation, what more present that this now?

BBC News at 6 yesterday. Newsreader George Alagaya of SL Tamil Origin was wearing dark blackish clothes and tie. Is that because he was mourning? He had to report VP's death, end of LTTE and the victory of SL forces?

I saw almost all of the many Tamil shops, restaurants and video rental shops in South London, UK were shut yesterday evening as I passed by. Only saw one with shutters half open. All others completely shut. Usually they are all open till late night.
Anybody know why? Mourning? or planning something sinister?

I just saw fat pig's body on rupavahini. it's obvious he was not killed while trying to escape. looks like he was kept, tortured & executed by a shot in the head. the utube video will be out soon. take a look at the fingers. they look crushed.

the day mahinda rushed back was the day fat pig was captured. so he must have suffered in army custody for a day or two. my guess is that he was tricked into a bogus surrender. the proof for this theory lies in the fact that MR boldly declared tuesday's speech in parliament on saturday.

if fat pig was not in custody he would have never done that. he could not have made the speech with thalaivar loose. so the army obviously got the set of LTTE leaders earlier & announced their deaths in batches. fat pig's death was announced last in a very dramatic fashion after MR's speech.

the whole thing was definitely timed & set up.

Koti Selva,
I spoke to my best friend who is Tamil. He seems to be very happy the LTTE menace is gone.
He is from Jaffna, he was abducted years ago in a "white van" by the LTTE to a terrorist training camp whilst he was on his way to school. His parents gave lots of money to LTTE and got him released after some time promising that he will return after the OL exams. He spoke of the brainwashing classes and the weapons training by the LTTE. He described the sounds of the airforce planes coming to bomb over Jaffna etc. and how they would run for cover. Well, SLAF was a bit primitive a couple of decades ago. He somehow managed to get over to Colombo, worked there for sometime and somehow came to live abroad. His parents had to give even more money to the LTTE for my friends disappearence from Jaffna!
Anyway his advice was that LTTE should be annihilated for peace to return to SL. Well his exact words were something about dropping a big bomb there. I got in to an argument about why SL cannot do that due to human shield. He said that if the SL forces do not destroy it now, the LTTE will carry on and hundreds of thousands will die in the years to come, so some collateral damage which will be less than future casualties should be acceptable.
The children in the north will once again be able to have some normality in their lives. Please don't try to ruin their lives once again whilst you live in luxary in the west. They have suffered enough with the help of the Diasspora like you.

Gents,

Let's not waste time answering to Selva. All he has to do is send a short comment once in a while and we are loading our blog with answers to it. This is one sure way to cripple the quality of any blog. (We should do this in pro-ltte blogs to waste their time and space :-) )

time will heal Selva's grief and hopefully ppl like him will wake up from their bloody dreams to regain their common sense back.

Let's discuss the good productive and useful ways of celebrating this victory! and the ways of getting the maximum out of it! history shows we get a conclusive victory like this once in 400 years like. So let's not let this opportunity to go waste.

Be careful now... you wouldn't want to go and do something that makes perfect sense now!

Sarcasm aside... I agree wholly with you. MR can easily apologise for the sins of another government from a quarter century ago. It costs him nothing politically (and even if it did he has lots of political capital to expend right now) and it obviates a common starting point of discontent that will otherwise forever be a useful tool of separatists.

Showing some humility in victory and accepting the obvious is a nice way to move on from the burdens of the past in preparation for the healing of the future.

..."This proves that there is NO ethnic problem here."

It only proves you are willfully blind to the glaringly obvious.

Of course there is an ethnic problem in Sri Lanka... even if it is just the one of ethnic cleansing the Muslims faced at the hands of the LTTE... or does that not count?

Please... after almost thirty years of war between the Government and a faction of exclusively Tamils it is absurd to suggest there is no ethnic strife. The LTTE and their fellow separatists were constantly berating the GoSL for marginalising Tamils specifically.

On the battlefield it was Tamil Tigers against Government forces almost exclusively made up of Sinhalese. If that does not clearly spell out ethnic differences what does?

One look at blogs like this and there is plenty of evidence as well... "toilet cleaners", "monkeys", "smelly women", "donkeys" and many more ethnic slurs... these are all undeniable evidence of ethnic problems.

Thankfully the LTTE have been, for the most part, sent back to hell but the final peace will not be found if people like you continue to deny the patently obvious.

Ashoka said...

Miss Information,

you are living true to what your name suggests. (trying to misinform others).

The way LTTE treated the Muslims (don't know why you omitted the way they treated Sinhalese), and the fact that LTTE was a mon ethnic organization both can be explained by LTTE being a racist terrorist organization. You don't have to bring in 'ethnic' problem jargon to explain that.

Ordinary sinhalese and tamils live in peace in this country. What we had was a terrorist problem created exclusively by LTTE. If you want to see proof, look at how good the eastern province or central province or western province doing. (all those places have sizable tamil populations but without LTTE)

Your idea that MR should apologize for 83 is sheer rubbish. 83 was not a government sponsored event carried by a planned government policy (as in Australia, they were right to apologize to aborigines). True government failed in it's duties (but then again that's the case with most of issues, that's why we are a 3rd world country) to protect, but it didn't sponsor the even as a part of one major policy. it was a riot, a thing happens in many countries time to time. sometimes ppl work on sudden impulses and go out of control. Since then Sinhalese havn't committed any atrocities but the LTTE exclusively did against all others. Even under provocation sinhalese didn't take part in any other riot and the governments did manage to ensure the safety of 50% tamils in government control areas.

I think you just need to clear up your concepts a bit and you aught to know the meaning of phrases you use. such as 'Ethnic problem'. This kind of misguided way of thinking was partly responsible for the mess we got into, I think.

Let's just call spade a spade. LTTE terrorism, racism and the stupid wish of tamil diaspora to see a seperate tamil country in SL were the reasons for our troubles. Luckily, our heroes got rid of the biggest part in them!

All sinhaleese and tamils,

I dont think there is battle about whether sinhaleese are better or tamils are better, it is not a test match where you cheer the people of your side.

These two communities have lived in this land without killing each other for over 2500 years except for Elara Dutugamunu time and 1970-2008 time.

Sinhaleese has committed certain excess however that has not been repeated since 1983. Spontaneous anger political movtives made certain wrong to be done. For which most of sinhaleese appologise from tamil community.

When it comes to tamil community while living in the other parts of the country among sinhaleese and while being taught and educated by srilankan govt they directly and indirectly supported different freedom movements. However this freedom movement changed its form to very racist and terrorist organisation. They not only killed sinhaleese and muslims even killed tamils, threatened india. Dispora and other tamils have killed there own race more than sinhaleese have killed.

Both parties need to think and resolve to live in harmony again else both will get really fucked up either living here or abroad.

Prabakaran's injury was very common among SLA casualties , specialy new recruits. It is very consistent with a close quarter wound sustained at a distance of about 50-100 Meters by a heavy caliber bullet. (its Ironic if SLA used the heavy calibur anti air craft guns captured from LTTE against them).

The rule is to lie down and keep ur head down during heavy fire and retreat. Most new recruits lift their head up instinctively at the first moment they sense that the fire is dying down, just to get hit on the forehead by a bullet.

Experienced soldiers never do this, you will never see such wounds on experienced soldiers. But if u have gone to funerals of your friends who died just after joining the army you would see a body with the top part of their head wrapped with bandages.

Prabakaran who never faught after the thinnaveli junction fight (Jul 7 1983) would not have behaved like an experienced fighter. He did the mortal mistake that thousands of fresh SLA soldiers who fell victim to him did even a few of my dear friends. Lift his head up during a fire fight.

Patriots,

Interesting thins you have heard else where.

(1) 33 Bullet story: LTTE was started on May 6, 1976. LTTE was comprehensively defeated on may 18, 2009. 33 years and 12 days. He marked the end of his Eelam struggle with 33 bullets in LTTE flag. That is an amazing coincidence.

(2) Prediction by astrologer Sumanadasa Abeygunawardena that LTTE's fate will be decided on March 6th or 8th of 2009.

(3) Aluthgama Kande Vihare prediction (I don't have lots of information about it)

The bigger the defeat the extravegent claims they make.

However, you have to wait till they launch their next ealam campain in aveechi maha narakadiya to get the veresion applicable for victories. That wan't be before too long since they almost reached their full cadre levels in the hell with all their top leaders barring one or two sakkiliyas.
I am not sure whether there would be the net but sure you will hear BBC say that their reporters are not allowed there, unless few has already reached by virtue.

It because these soldiers and officers are tough that we go this far. These guys just defeated their worst enemy, do not judge them by civilian standards.

Your point is understood, and it is true. However I don't think we are trying to judge anyone, its just that right now these pictures should not be availble as certain media and persons will use these to damage the reputation of SLDF. This is easily achieved by taking the pictures out of context. We shouldn't give them that opportunity.
